A couple weeks ago my users started telling me they could not create new reports. I told them to just modify there existing reports (all the existing reports worked great) until I could get around to fixing it. I spent at least 4 hours attempting to fix the problem by going through all the securty setup procudures documented with Report Portal. The "New Report", "Save Report" & "Open Report"; also do not seem to be working while in the OLAP, OWC, etc Design mode.

Any guesses on this? Is there any type of diagnostics I can do to provide more information on this problem? There are no visible errors in the browser, computer logs & file logs that I can see.

There could be several reasons Report Portal suddenly stopped working:

1) Your evaluation period is up
2) The password for the account you use to connect to Analysys Services is changed. Please open the configuration utility (Start>Programs>Report Portal>Application Setup) and change the password.

I own Report Portal 1.3; the evalutation could not be the problem. There is no Start Menu "Application Setup" in 1.3. I was just thinking other people may have had this same problem.

Try using the SDK sample application to make sure that XMLA SDK is properly installed.

http://www.reportportal.com/download/XmlaSampleApp.zip

Check the password for the account in the XMLA virtual directory.
