Posted - 02/20/2005 : 14:05:21 Hi, I have just tried to install the eval version of ReportPortal 2.0 onto a machine that has never had a previous version of ReportPortal on it. A few months ago I managed to get 1.5 up and running on another machine but as version 2.0 has an installer I can no longer 'get behind the scenes' to find out what it is that I am doing wrong. The message I get is with the SQL Server Connection information dialog, server name (local), database ReportPortal, username sa password <the sa password>.
Does it expect a database named ReportPortal to already exist -perhaps created by v 1.5 ?
thanks |

Posted - 02/22/2005 : 12:14:37 Yes, many apologies for wasting your time on this as I've been a bit of an idiot
I just got back to looking at it again this morning and noticed that I hadn't set the authentication mode to 'SQL Server and Windows' - at the moment my back end database solution just uses Windows authentication. Duh.
Problem solved, running up the install now because I'm dying to get in and try the new stuff.
