Posted - 10/28/2004 : 06:58:06 Hi I have some calculated member on my Cube dimensions (not measures). Is it possible to retrieve them beside from using MDX? Right now I'm using MDX which prevents me using the filters. will that be possible at the future ? Tal |

Posted - 11/04/2004 : 10:37:13 Igor, Ok. silly me, actually I wrote that mdx on the portal instead of the cube. It will be quite cumbersome to create all measures from the version members I.E budget, actual etc. (becouse I want all of them on one dimension)but this solution will perfectly work for me.

There is no reason not to put this calculated member on measures. For example let's take Foodmart 200 - Budget cube. The calculated measure can have a formula that combines values from two members: Marketing and lease. The MDX would look like this:
([Account].[All Account].[Net Income].[Total Expense].[Marketing],[Measures].[Amount]) + ([Account].[All Account].[Net Income].[Total Expense].[Lease],[Measures].[Amount]) |

Posted - 11/01/2004 : 10:30:42 Hi I have an HR cube the measure is head count and there is a dimension "version" which have :budget, pipeline, actual. I would like to calculate total = actual + pipeline or difference = budget - actual. In order to do that I created calculated members. Do I have other option ? I don't want to calculate all those members as measure usings the DTS. TX Tal |

Yes, it is technically possible to implement. However, why do you need to use a calculated member on my Cube dimensions (not measures)?
