Hello there...

I'm having this odd behaviour...
If for some reason, an OLAP report experiments some problem... lets say a time out or some thing like that... or some times is enough with just cancelling a query for a report that takes some time to respond and... then when I try to access any OLAP report I get this message

Error: Error occurred during attempt to iterate schema...

If I reset the IIS (which I cannot do all the time because this server hosts other sites) the problem goes away...

The message keeps on showing up for some time, some 30 minutes or so and then goes away by itself...

The server is a Windows 2003 Web Server edition and I'm using Build 98... but I'm quite sure it happened some time ago and then I had Windows 2000 and build 70 or so...

Thanks.

Thanks,

This happened again today and I checked and a process identified as DLLHOST.EXE was taking about 2GB of memory (or so the task manager reported). I checked to see if there was some event in the log and there were a buch of events related to the IIS not responding but nothing seem to indicate where the problem started.
Next week I'll be upgrading to build 102 or 105 so I'll let you know how it goes...

Thanks,

Please open Performance Monitor (perfmon) for your server and look at memory and CPU usage when this problem happens. You can do the same with Task Manager on the server. Which process takes most memory or CPU use?

Also please open event view for your server. Can you see if there are any events happening at the time?
