Posted - 02/03/2006 : 13:45:44 Hi,
i installed RP Build 98 on my Windows Server 2003. MS SQL Enterprise eval and AS eval are installed, both with latest SP4.
--------------- translation: german<-->english kunde <--> user ---------------
I created two Windows user Accounts kunde1 and kunde2 with normaly user rights. I also created two databases in AS db1="kunde1" and db2="kunde2". In manage roles i added kunde1 to db1 and in db2 kunde2.
In RP i use the AS integrated Security , all settings are made and works. I installed a SSL certificate in IIS.
So, i am now able to get a connection to my RP-Server over internet with https. 1.)If i log for example with kunde1, i am able to open the db1 (olap report), all works fine.
2.)Now i logout kunde1
3.)and login kunde2.If i now try to connect to the db2, there is no db2 in the pull down menu, but i can see the db1.
(please look at this picture: http://h572642.serverkompetenz.net/download/AS%20slow.jpg )
The good thing, i cant connect to the foreign db1 with the account kunde2.
If i restart the server, i am able to get a connection with kunde2 to db2 and after logout no permission to db1 with kunde1, same problem like before.
But if i logout and wait a while (10 minutes, without restart Server), i am able to connect with the other user and it works fine.
My questions:
1.)Is AS to slow to logout the users? 2.)Is that a Microsft bug? 3.)Is that a Report Portal bug? 4.)Is there a way to solve my problem?
thx Sefer

Posted - 02/16/2006 : 05:26:03 Hi admin,
AS 2005: AS Security works fine! Report Portal 2.1 (B99)works fine!
AS 2000: the problem with the AS Security could appear because i use the German Enterprise Evalution Version.
I didnt test the problem with Excel, if i do i will report.

Posted - 02/15/2006 : 09:55:15 Hi admin,
i think you missunderstood me.
The AS Security works, but if one user is logged in, then another user is not able to login.
I think it is a Microsoft bug. At this moment i try to install SQL Server 2005 with AS 2005, i will report if the bug is there too!

Posted - 02/13/2006 : 23:37:35 To test AS security please try the following:
1) Locate “MDX Sample Application” (mdxsampl.exe) 2) Shift Right click a and select “Run As…” option 3) Try users kunde1 and kunde2 4) Open secured dimension for each one

Posted - 02/11/2006 : 12:33:45 The problem is, that two different users cant login at the same time into there own different AS databases.
The first user is able to login in his own database, but the second user is not able! And the second user is able to see the databasename of user one, but at least he cant login into the foreign database.

Posted - 02/10/2006 : 12:04:08 Hi,
I don't understand exact what the problem is. But do you have added user roles etc in Analysis Manager and is this working as expected based on testing in for example Excel ?
Maybe you should use XMLA secuity of RP?
