I have downloaded the evaluation version of PortalReport. I have installed PortalReport on a W2K Server wit IIS 5.0 Our MSSQL Server 2000 is running on a different server. The SQL Report are Working fine, but I am not able to create an OLAP Report. When I start the OLAP Report dialog I got the folluving message:
"Errors xfaultcode->Server xfaultstring->Unknown server error xfaultsoap->"
Do anybody have an idea what is wrong in my installation
Many thanks for your help
With kind regards Jacky |

Posted - 08/21/2004 : 07:49:00 Please go to Admin > Settings > and set XML for Analysis Server to Your server. Make sure it is the exactly same server as you use to access ReportPortal.
XMLA SDK 1.1 requires MSXML 4.0. It can be downloaded here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&DisplayLang=en. Try using the SDK sample application (http://www.reportportal.com/XmlaSampleApp.zip) to make sure that XMLA SDK is properly installed. You can also test the connection with this page http://www.reportportal.com/MDX.htm. Please save this page to desktop before running it. Sometime it is necessary to restart the IIS service or the PC for the XML/A web service to work.
