Posted - 08/13/2004 : 08:59:43 Hi Igor, I have installed all by the instructions several times. But OLAP part does not work. The authentication method for XMLA and MSXISAPI.DLL is Anonimous with using an account that is a member of Administrators.
What is wrong?
I dont have the VB to test XMLA, so I use just a telnet. When I send to my IIS the following message
POST /xmla/msxisapi.dll HTTP/1.1 Host: http://labpe1500sc Content-Type: text/xml SOAPAction: Discover
<?xml version="1.0"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <SOAP-ENV:Body> <Discover xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-analysis"> <RequestType>DISCOVER_DATASOURCES</RequestType> <Restrictions><RestrictionList></RestrictionList></Restrictions> <Properties><PropertyList></PropertyList></Properties> </Discover> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
The response is
HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Fri, 13 Aug 2004 15:39:20 GMT Connection: close Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"

Posted - 08/15/2004 : 20:49:57 Please go to Admin > Settings > and set XML for Analysis Server to Your server. Make sure it is the exactly same server as you use to access ReportPortal. |

Posted - 08/15/2004 : 10:29:37 Igor,
Unfortunately it works only from local. When I run browser on the server where IIS and MSAS reside. When I run browser remotely it pops up "Errors xfaultcode->Server xfaultstring->Unknown server error xfaultsoap->".
The MDX.htm sample works fine remotely.

Posted - 08/15/2004 : 10:13:12 Thank you, Igor,
It works now. After 3-rd reinstallation of MSXML and XMLA. Weird. Sure, it is not a problem of ReportPortal itself.
Now it works fine. I'll test and contact you nearest time.
Thanx, MM |

Posted - 08/13/2004 : 21:40:02 MM,
I have also read your post about this problem on microsoft.public.data.xmlanalysis. Nice move. Once again if you don’t have VB you can try testing with this page: http://www.reportportal.com/MDX.htm

Posted - 08/13/2004 : 10:50:57 I got another error after I deinstall MSXML4.0 and XMLA SDK, rebooted and install them back.
