Posted - 08/13/2004 : 08:55:35 Hi Igor, I have installed all by the instructions several times. But OLAP part does not work. The authentication method for XMLA and MSXISAPI.DLL is Anonimous with using an account that is a member of Administrators.
What is wrong?
I dont have the VB to test XMLA, so I use just a telnet. When I send to my IIS the following message
POST /xmla/msxisapi.dll HTTP/1.1 Host: http://labpe1500sc Content-Type: text/xml SOAPAction: Discover
HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Fri, 13 Aug 2004 15:39:20 GMT Connection: close Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"

Posted - 08/13/2004 : 21:32:16 XMLA SDK 1.1 requires MSXML 4.0. It can be downloaded here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&DisplayLang=en. Try using the SDK sample application (http://www.reportportal.com/XmlaSampleApp.zip) to make sure that XMLA SDK is properly installed. You can also test the connection with this page http://www.reportportal.com/MDX.htm. Please save this page to desktop before running it. Sometime it is necessary to restart the IIS service or the PC for the XML/A web service to work.
