I was wondering about it's porpouse... because it seems to be the connection to the database, but it's name suggests something else.

I'm also having trouble with it, not being recognised.

Yes, xmla.udl the the file that points to SQL Server database. Yes, xmla.udl the file that points to SQL Server database. Sorry about the confusion, xmla stands for XMLA Consulting.
